Peanut Butter Fudge: Perfect Treat For After a Break-up
So you have received a really short notice that your cousin is coming over in the afternoon to pay you a visit after you gave birth. She also realized that it's been a while since you had a good conversation, long before you had a huge stomach because you were 8 months pregnant then.
It's almost lunch time and you have not prepared anything for her when she comes. And you always know that both of you have a sweet tooth. When you check in your fridge, there's nothing you can easily cook in a short time. And when you check in your pantry, all you see is a box of tea and some baking ingredients, some cookies, and peanut butter. Preparing a tea party for two is the brilliant idea that will save you time and energy to cook a more complex meal. Anyway, afternoon is a perfect time for tea parties.
And so you remembered that peanut butter fudge is her top favorite among the wide selection of sweet stuff. There was even one time when she ate all of the stored peanut butter fudges in their fridge, and they had a fight with her little sister after that. And when there's a peanut butter in their fridge, you can't expect there'll be something left for tomorrow.
So you thought of preparing peanut butter fudges to add more sweet stuff for your afternoon tea party for two and give your cousin a sweet surprise. You opened you baking guide book to check if you have all the ingredients to bake peanut butter fudge. Thank the heavens because all the needed ingredients are there, especially the peanut butter. After all, it's easy to prepare and in less than an hour, your peanut butter fudge is ready.
You started to set the saucepan in a low heat, you mixed the sugar with corn syrup, milk, and put on some chocolates to add more sweet flavor. You stirred the mixture until the sugar dissolved and all the chocolates melted. You started to bring it to a boil while you stir occasionally, until a soft ball started to form when a small amount of the mixture was submerged into cold water. You removed the mixture from heat, and started to put on the peanut butter, without having to stir. You set aside the mixture to cool off to lukewarm. Then you started to beat the mixture until it became creamy. You dropped teaspoonfuls onto wax papers. You then placed the wax papers filled with the mixture inside the fridge until the mixture hardened, and you're ready to slice your home-made chocolate peanut butter fudge and set up your tea party.
The garden is ready and your cookies and chocolate peanut butter fudge is waiting for the tea. And so, you have fixed yourself, waited in the garden, and brought with you the tea set. After a few minutes, your cousin arrived and was delighted to your sweet surprise. A few minutes of warm welcome, both of you started to grab the chocolate peanut butter fudge. The whole afternoon was full of good conversation a whole lot more of munching peanut butter fudges and the cookies afterwards.
