Fat Lactose

how can you tell if you have a lactose intolerance?

I'm 19 years old and have been on a low fat diet my entire life because my mother does not seem to be blessed with a hyperactive thyroid like my father and i, anyway my point is that i find that whenever i eat foods like cheese, Ice Cream and chocolate that i breakout and i was wondering if maybe i have grown an intolerance to lactose/fat because i don't normally eat them.

i also find that i feel slightly sick if i eat fatty foods because I'm just not used to it.

Lactose intolerance shows up with tummy and intestinal problems, not with skin breakouts. It might just be a coincidental, or you might be craving these foods due to hormones (mmm, chocolate!), and hormones are notorious for causing breakouts.

Feeling sick after eating fatty foods is probably just because you are not use to them. I have the same problem. If you were a lot older, it could be related to the gall bladder.

Since you and your father have hyperthyroid conditions, be sure to get regular checkups and blood work to keep it under control.
